Happy Stars proprietors are Anita Lester and Clare Foster. Anita manages Happy Stars Babies and Clare manages Happy Stars day nursery. Both are fully qualified and are experienced early year practitioners.
All our practitioners are friendly, caring and fully qualified with varying experience of working with young children. They attend regular training to enhance their knowledge ensuring we provide all children with the best possible start.
Happy Stars is committed to providing equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice for all children, families, staff members and visitors. Everyone is made welcome and we are fully committed to valuing diversity.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and plan a purposeful play based curriculum which focuses on individual children's interests helping them to learn and develop, building their self esteem and confidence and recognising their achievements. We provide a balance of child led and adult initiated activities and our fully qualified experienced practitioners support children's learning to ensure when they leave us to start school they are enthusiastic to learn. We offer all 3 and 4 year olds 15 hours free nursery place for 38 weeks per year starting the term after their third birthday. Funding for 2 year olds may also be available, conditions apply.
Both nursery's have well equipped outdoor learning environments. All children have the opportunity to access the outdoor environment at any time during their day and the experiences and resources which are offered outdoors are an extension of our indoor learning environments. Children are encouraged to access the outdoors in all weathers and we have wet weather clothing available to ensure children have the choice to splash in a puddle if they want to!~
Our experienced cook provides a healthy nutritious two course lunch and caters for special diets. We provide an interesting menu which reflects the diversity of our community and promotes healthy eating. Children are offered mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks and tea. Fresh drinking water is available throughout the day and we use local suppliers. In September 2011 we achieved a Communication and Interaction Charter Mark which celebrates our success in developing all children's early communication and interaction.
Our ethos is to value, enhance and enable all children to become confident communicators and develop early language and interaction. Being able to communicate and interact with others effectively makes a difference to how well a child goes on to achieve in later life. Therefore we believe it is essential as an early years setting that we embrace communication and interaction with all our children, their families and the wider community, ensuring children have the best possible start at developing and becoming confident communicators.
